With Doane Library, the first step was to recommend re-ordering the floors. The building was set up so that you walked in on level 3. Once the floors were re-ordered so you walked in on level 1, the next step was to simply take the primary colors that were painted on each level to help identify what level you were on and darken them up to make them more sophisticated. With that process I matched pantone colors that would be printed on the signage with the Sherwin Williams paint color that would be painted on the central wall of each floor so that the colors worked seamlessly together.
